Optics Jobs

Opening for an Optical Engineer in the laboratory of Spencer Smith at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Smith was recently awarded a five year National Science Foundation grant to advance the power and accessibility of multiphoton imaging for researchers, and we are seeking a lead engineer to develop, build, and test state of the art instrumentation and to help disseminate our findings. This individual would work directly with Dr. Smith and with lead researchers across the country, as well as vendors and industry specialists; because of the collaborative nature of this position the opportunities for professional networking are considerable. We are anticipating hiring a PhD candidate or postdoc with appropriate research experience in optics and optomechanics, however we will consider individuals with Bachelor's degrees and significant relevant work experience.
